We all know how we feel when we have a massage, we feel relaxed and centered, and energized. How do you think you would feel if your home could be the same way? When you walk through the door, instead of feeling a sense of dread or irritation, you could come home to a relaxed, centered, and energized environment. 6 reasons your HOME needs a MASSAGE!
Self care is a very important part of your life, and for me I have started having regular massages, and it has made the world of difference, I made a conscious decision to take the time for this small act of self kindness once a month. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could give that same self care to our homes.
When we live in a cluttered environment we tend to be tense and uptight, our houses feel overloaded, and the atmosphere is heavy. The opposite is true after you have purged, just like a massage, it relieves the tension, makes it easier to stretch out, and the space gives you energy to accomplish those everyday tasks.
We all have the capacity to buy “stuff” whether it is dollar store or high end, it is still “stuff” and unless it is used, loved, or it nourishes you, it is just “stuff”. This can weigh our houses down, just like tired muscles.
Maybe we should look at our homes as a brick and mortar body, it has a heating system, it holds air just like your lungs, and it has different ways to eliminate the waste that is made. If we give our homes the self care of purging anything that is just clutter, we help it work more efficiently, helps with air quality, and the build up of garbage is kept to a minimum.
With self care given to our home, in return;
- It is easier to clean
- We can find things easily
- Creates a feeling of a sanctuary
- More efficient heating and cooling
- Saves money, not buying things you already have, but can’t find
- Spend more time together as a family or enjoy gathering with friends
Sometimes seeing something from a different perspective is helpful, we are able to see the bigger picture. Instead of just living in our homes, we can see how we live in them.
